Our client is a New Zealand-based technology company developing world-leading seismic protection solutions that help safeguard buildings and infrastructure in earthquake-prone regions. Backed by strong growth, international projects, and a commitment to innovation, they are expanding their team and seeking an experienced Purchasing & Logistics Manager to play a critical role in supporting global operations.

You will lead procurement, supplier relationships, logistics coordination, and operational administration activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working with international suppliers to manage complex supply chain activities, and help drive continuous improvements across procurement, quality, and operational systems.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities to support production and project requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, quality standards, and commercial agreements
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct supplier audits and annual performance reviews
- Source and onboard new suppliers as required
- Maintain procurement data within ERP and planning systems
- Support engineering and innovation teams with sourcing of new components and manufacturing solutions
- Coordinate local and international freight and shipping activities
- Manage customs requirements, tracking, and delivery timelines
- Develop contingency plans to minimise supply chain disruptions
- Monitor market and geopolitical risks that may impact supply continuity
- Ensure operational continuity across all supply chain activities
- Own and maintain ISO and Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Lead internal audits and support ongoing compliance requirements
- Administer NCR, CAR, ECN and ECR processes
- Support Health & Safety documentation and systems
- Work closely with Finance to reconcile purchasing invoices and expenditure
- Provide administrative leadership across key operational business systems
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 5+ years' experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management
- Experience working with international suppliers and manufacturers
- Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills
- Proven ability to build trusted supplier relationships while achieving commercial outcomes
- Experience using ERP systems and procurement software
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to engage across multiple time zones and travel where required
- Ideally you will have a background in manufacturing or engineering environments
- Experience sourcing precision-engineered or mechanical components
- Knowledge of international trade and logistics
- Ideally Mandarin language capability for communication with suppliers
