Back in 2003 after graduation, I struggled to find work for 5 months. During this time I applied to at least 100 roles only to be rejected without an interview. It was a hard time for me and my self-esteem got worse and worse and I felt like my degree was fast becoming a waste of time. I then got a call from Leanne in reply to a role I applied for and we arranged an interview time. When I met with Leanne, she gave me some wise words of advice – to the point I think she may even have told me that I needed new shoes! After our meeting she sent me on my first client interview for a coordinator position. That role (which I was successful in landing) was the first step of what is now a (relatively) long media career. I went on to work for Advertising Agencies TVNZ, MTV and Mediacom. I want to finally say a huge thank you to Leanne for getting me into the industry, especially when I was having such a hard time – she is a fantastic recruiter!
